RELICA is an international project that creates innovative methods of learning to read, write and communicate for adults with difficult access to standard education - especially those with migrant experience and interruptions in education. The project is based on creative methods: artistic activities, co-creation, digital media and manual work.
The project will combine research, creativity and technology to create open educational resources that are easy to implement by both educational institutions and independent educators.
Foundation activities:
- Design and creation of an interactive learning platform based progressive web application (PWA) to access audio and video-based exercises,
- Ensure the platform complies with WCAG 2.1 and the needs of people with low digital literacy,
- Co-creation of language learning resources through creative activities,
- Integration of digital solutions into educational practices,
- Sharing digital education know-how and participating in tests and workshops with target groups.
Effects and results:
- An analysis of the educational needs and barriers of adults with migrant experience,
- 18 teaching methods based on creative and digital activities - ready to be implemented by teachers,
- Online manual for educators with instructions and multimedia materials (including tutorials),
- Interactive platform for participants with exercises and games to develop language skills,
- 6 local events and an international event to disseminate the results,
- Developing a transnational community of educators working with educationally excluded people.
Why is this important to us?

Adult education often leaves out the people who need it most - because they do not fit into a standard framework. The RELICA project responds to this problem by creating resources tailored to their experiences, abilities and needs. Through art, technology and authentic work with people - rather than "for them" - we can support their journey towards linguistic and social independence.
